P.M.Twat.

P.M.T is one of the many things millions women have to suffer through regularly and rarely feel open enough to mention, or worse, when they do it is brushed off or even made a joke about.
Let me tell you, it’s not funny. I don’t know what has changed with me recently (potentially minimally less grumpy the rest of the time so I notice it more / I newly suffer / I’m more in tune with the reasons for my moods) but I now don’t need to look at my diary to know I am due my period.
I. Am. Grumpy. And in general I am way more chipper these days, hence the lack of blog posts. It’s difficult to be funny and/or heart wrenching when you are chipper – my daughter did take a shit in a park the other day though, that was quite amusing.

But the whole week before my period I’m horrible. With a fuse so short it would give the incredible hulk a run for his money (if you think I’m exaggerating ask my husband).
Im sure it manifests in everyone differently, but for me I have a horrible mood, short fuse, don’t sleep well so am tired (and we all know what a BITCH tiredness is), my body aches and I feel bloated and generally gross. And to top it off its followed by another week with a period, when it’s bloody annoying (excuse the pun), potentially painful and you feel gross.
It might sound minimal but when you have 1 week in 4 feeling like this EVERY month, it’s not minimal. And although I’m not expecting to fix it, I’m prepared to live with it, ladies we need to help each other.
We need to talk about P. M. T.

We need to make it normal.

And we need both women and men who don’t suffer from it to understand what a TWAT it is.
So, let’s all give each other a non patronising pat, a glass of wine and not brush off how shit P. M. T can be. We get a tough deal ladies, let’s give ourselves some credit.
You are all awesome.
And to anyone I’ve shouted at / glared at / given the finger to this week, I’m sure you now understand.
Xx
